Remember: they’re by your side during emotional moments, influence the mood of the day and make real-time decisions that affect your timeline and memories.
2. The true value of a wedding planner or day of coordinator isn’t just organization, it’s mental freedom. Without this vendor, you’ll be the one answering questions, fixing timelines and making decisions. You are not the host, you’re the guests of honor. Hire the planner.
3. Authentic memories can’t be forced or curated. They happen when you and your fiancé feel safe, unhurried, and present. The more tightly each moment is controlled, the less room there is for unscripted ones to emerge.
4. The hours spent getting ready in the morning are the emotional foundation of the entire day. Your hair and makeup artists are usually the first vendors you interact with; they set the tone. Choose wisely.
5. It sounds cliché because it’s true in a way you can’t fully understand until it happens. Your wedding day doesn’t move like normal time. It compresses. So take any possible moment to look around you and take it all in. Admire the people, design, feeling. It doesn’t last nearly long enough.
6. 10 years from now, you won’t care about what color the napkins were. What you will remember is how the day felt surrounded by your loved ones. Don’t lose sight of that in the planning process.
